Embark on a palatable journey to the heart of Austria as Tiffin presents a brand new afternoon tea experience with live music featuring the iconic songs from THE SOUND OF MUSIC for fans to relish.

In the spirit of celebrating the timeless themes of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, our Executive Sous Chef – Pastry, Thomas Cabrit drew inspiration from the musical’s Austrian roots and curated a special three-layer afternoon tea that pays tribute to both the musical production and the traditional flavours of Austria.

Highlights include Austria’s national dessert Apfelstrudel, an apple strudel crafted from wafer-thin pastry that is transformed into a bite-size tart, Vienna’s rare chocolate star, Sacher Torte with a whisper of apricot jam that offers a decadent nod to the Viennese café culture, and the absolute classic Gugelhupf vanilla bundt cake. For the savoury delights, Foie gras mousse, baumkuchen, apple chutney, Dill cured ocean trout, sour cream, Oscietra caviar and Freshly baked spinach strudel, smoked speck are the classic Austrian mainstays not be missed.

Conclude your idyllic afternoon tea experience on a sweet note with Kaiserschmarrn – a fluffy pancake with rum-soaked raisins and apple sauce at the dessert live station. Also known as the Emperor’s Mess, this Austrian staple is rumoured to have been named after Emperor Franz Joseph I during his reign in the late 19th century. Legend has it that the emperor was served a shredded pancake that was mistakenly overcooked, yet found it surprisingly delicious. Since then, Kaiserschmarrn became a cherished dish amongst the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy. Add a scoop or two of our homemade ice-cream from the adjacent counter for an indulgent finale.

For a well-rounded Austrian dining experience, pair the tea set with our special concoctions Mozart Melange or Apricot Melange (HK$110 per glass) – a rich flavoured coffee topped with velvety cream that blends harmoniously with the robust depth of chocolate or the subtle sweetness of apricot.
